We would like to welcome our new Howe High School Principal, Mr. Darryl Smith. Mr. Smith has over 20 years of experience in public education in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. Mr. Smith earned his Bachelors and Masters of Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a concentration in school administration and music education. He has been a Band Director for numerous years, and served as an Assistant Principal at Guymon High School, a 5A school in the Oklahoma panhandle for five years.
Mr. Smith has been married for 30 years, and he and his wife have two sons, ages 28 and 14 and a daughter age 12. He enjoys fishing, working on cars, riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends. Reflecting on the upcoming school year, Mr. Smith shared that he “is looking forward to working with an already great team at Howe Public Schools to keep building the future of young adults.”Welcome to the Howe community Mr. Smith and family! #HPSLions
