Virtual Learning

Dear Parents,

Due to an increase in COVID cases, an increase in quarantines for STUDENT AND STAFF absences within our school, AND the lack of available substitute teachers, Howe Public Schools will transition to distance learning STARTING THURSDAY, JAN 13 with the possible return on Tuesday, Jan 18. Just a reminder, Monday, Jan 17 is a scheduled NO SCHOOL DAY (in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day).

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ALREADY SCHEDULED will continue as of this communication.

All students will continue to use our learning management systems (LMS) to access their daily assignments, which includes SeeSaw for grades PK-3rd and Google Classroom for grades 3rd-12th. All assignments should be completed on time as requested by each individual teacher.

Ongoing communication with teachers is key to provide our students a successful learning experience while in distributed learning. Students should check their school email and classroom LMS daily and often. Please communicate any needs that you or your student(s) might have in a timely manner during the regularly scheduled school day times.

The continued safety and well being of students and employees is our top priority. We continue to adhere to guidance from the Oklahoma State Department of Health, State Department of Education, the CDC, and Emergency Management in all decisions made.

Thank you for your understanding and partnership with us as we take the necessary steps to protect and effectively serve our school community. Again, the situation is being closely monitored and we will keep you apprised of any changes.

Sincerely,

Scott L. Parks, Superintendent
Howe Public Schools
