We look forward to welcoming our students tomorrow for the first day of class! Just a reminder, no student drop-offs should occur prior to 7:35 pm. The school day starts at 8 am and ends at 3:20 pm.
3 year old program - 1st grade students can be escorted to their buildings the first two days of school; 2nd - 6th grade students will report to the cafeteria for breakfast, 7th-8th will report to the Middle School Bldg.
HS students will gather in the HS breezeway and will be escorted to the New Gym for a high school orientation once the first bell rings.
Breakfast and lunch menus are posted in the School App for Thursday and Friday. Next week's menus will be updated soon!

JOM Student Educational Supply Cards ($30 Visa cards) for Howe JOM students will be available for pick-up at the Tech Bldg from 5:45 - 8 pm during Open House tonight (8/9/22). New students must be verified by the Choctaw Nation JOM program before pick-up. If your child is a new enrollee, please bring a copy of CDIB/birth certificate to the HS or Elem offices. #HPSLions
For the past several years, Howe Public Schools has qualified for child nutrition programs that allowed us to offer free meals to all students attending our school. The most recent program, Seamless Summer Child Nutrition provided free meals during the pandemic. This program has ended and we are required to qualify our students eligibility through the free/reduced eligibility applications this school year. During this year’s eligibility determination, we identified the need to apply for Provision II Child Nutrition programing which will allow us to offer FREE meals this year while filling out applications to establish our program options for the coming years. This decision will place the financial responsibility, for all children that would have to pay for meals, on the school. We made this decision to provide financial relief for our families during these financially challenging times. We ask our families to please assist us in this effort by filling out this years free/reduced eligibility applications. Lunch applications can be picked up tonight at our Back To School Open House at the HS or Elem offices. Please turn in the completed lunch form to Mrs. Bennett. She will be accepting applications at the Tech Bldg through out the evening. Your completed lunch application tonight will enter you into a drawing for 1 of 2 $50 Visa cards. #HPSLions

The first day of class for KTC - Poteau, day-time programs is Wednesday, August 10th. All students pre-enrolled for Automotive Service Technology, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Electrical Technology, Health Careers Education, HVAC, Practical Nursing, and Welding Technology are required to start on this date.
The Howe AM KTC bus/van/suburban will leave Howe at 7:50 am in front of HS, pick-up at 11 am at KTC. The Howe PM KTC bus/van/suburban will leave 12:15 pm in front of HS, pickup at 3:15 pm at KTC. #HPSLions

If you are a returning student or a new student and have already been approved for the upcoming school year, then you receive an email that you have been rejected, it simply means you filled out the pre-enrollment form again instead of the regular enrollment form. Attention Parents of Freshman: there is not a scheduled orientation for Freshman students. The event was on the calendar in error and has been removed. We encourage all parents and students to attend our Back To School night on Tuesday, Aug 8 from 5-8 pm. #HPSLions
HS STUDENTS: All class changes will be addressed the first two weeks of school. Many students do not have a schedule yet. They are our current focus. Returning students & new students who have spoken with Mrs. Donathan do not need to attend enrollment next. Parents: Thank you for beginning the process of enrolling your student with Howe Public Schools for the 2022-23 school year. Below are instructions to complete the enrollment process. (This year online enrollment is through our PowerSchool Parent Portal. If your student finished the school year at Howe Public Schools last year, and you DO NOT have a PowerSchool Parent account, please contact the Elementary or High School office at your earliest convenience. Office hours are 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday-Thursday.
(Just a reminder, the parent of a NEW STUDENT will receive an email after pre-registration has been completed. Visit www.howeschools.org for more information.)
Step 1: Login to your PowerSchool parent account at http://powerschool.howeschools.org/public and follow Step 2 below.
If you have forgotten your Parent Portal PowerSchool login username and/or password, please choose the "Forgot Username or Password?" blue link at the bottom of the Student and Parent Sign In Portal at http://powerschool.howeschools.org/public and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you are unable to access your account after the password reset, please contact Tammy Parks at tammygparks@howeschools.org. Use the following email subject: PowerSchool Parent Portal Access, and in the body of the email include a phone contact number, name(s) of student(s), and parent name requesting information.
Step 2: Complete Enrollment forms
In the PowerSchool parent portal at https://powerschool.howeschools.org/public, select the student you are enrolling and click on the Forms link with the left navigation menu.
**Complete all ENROLLMENT forms by August 1, 2022**
Step 3: Provide Documentation
Additionally, once the online enrollment has been completed, please bring the following documentation to the Elementary or High School office BEFORE Aug 1 during the hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday-Thursday:
1. Proof of Residency (NEW STUDENTS ONLY - more information can be found on the Student Demographics information form in enrollment)
2. Child's birth certificate (if not currently on file)
3. Proof of immunizations
4. Copy of child's CDIB (if applicable)
5. Student legal name change and/or changes in parental custody if changes have occurred.

Once again, if your student has attended Howe Public Schools prior to this year and you filled out the new student pre-enrollment by mistake, you may get a message saying your enrollment was rejected. This simply means that you need to fill out the returning student online enrollment when it is available. Notifications will be posted when the regular online enrollment is ready to be completed.
