Students & Parents of Howe High School:
On October 5, 2021, the ACT will be administered free of charge to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors of Howe High School. Breakfast will be served at 8:00 am and testing will begin promptly at 8:30 am. ACT rules and regulations will be followed. Hence, anyone who shows up after test materials have been distributed, will not be allowed to test. Cell phones are also not permitted, even during breaks. Anyone found in violation of this policy will have their test scores invalidated. In case of emergency, parents may get in contact with their child by contacting the school at 918-658-3368. All sophomores, juniors, and seniors have been pre-registered for this test. Virtual and blended students are expected to be on campus that day to test. CASC & KTC will be informed to excuse Howe students for this test. A make-up test date will not be provided, and any student who does not test will be counted absent. Lunch consisting of Mazzio’s pizza will be provided following the test.
Students will receive room assignments. Some students will be assigned to test at the Warehouse. Students who are licensed drivers may drive themselves to the Warehouse that day. Non-licensed drivers assigned to test at the Warehouse will be transported via bus. The bus will leave the high school promptly at 8:20 am.
If you have an ACT approved calculator, please bring it with you. Be sure to speak with Mr. McMahan or Mr. Nobles ahead of time to ensure that your calculator is approved. You will also need to bring a picture ID if you have one. If you do not have one, please let me know ASAP.
All high school staff will be involved in the administration of the ACT on October 5th, so freshmen will learn virtually on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021. As with all virtual days, students are responsible for logging into Google Classroom and completing their assignments. THIS IS NOT A FREE DAY!
Please, feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thank You,
Amy Donathan
