In compliance with the mandatory statewide school closure decision of the Oklahoma Board of Education, Howe Public Schools will be closed until April 5th. This period of closure includes many events, including Jr/Sr Prom. Once school resumes, rescheduling may be considered based upon CDC & OK SDE guidelines at that time. #HPSLions

Our school nurse Lori Hall and our Resource Officer Jody Cooper attended an informational mtg with the LeFlore Co Health Dept earlier today. We will share resources from this meeting, but you are also invited to attend a repeat of the mtg today at 3 pm. Here’s the info:

As a result of the Oklahoma State School Board, ALL schools in OK will be ordered to cease operations effective March 17 - Apr 6, to include all instruction, extracurricular activities, etc. #HPSLions

Mr. Parks, Howe Supt along with all OK school Supts will be attending a 2 pm conference call today (3/16) with the OKSDE led by State Supt, Joy Hofmeister for an update on the COVID19 pandemic. An update will be shared after this mtg. #HPSLions

FYI Per Mr Parks’ phone conversation with the OSSAA, according to David Jackson Executive Dir OSSAA the entire OSSAA Class 2A basketball tournament has been postponed. Pending news conference at 12:30 pm for official statement. STAY TUNED! for additional information! #HPSLions

Lindsey Reppen-Freshman - Howe FFA and Preslee Jackson-7th grade -Howe 4H had the privilege of meeting Oklahoma Governor Stitt today. Both girls are showing pig gilts at the 105th annual Oklahoma Youth Expo (OYE) this week at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in OKC. Governor Stitt stopped by close to their pens and was showing his support for FFA and 4H students. Good luck to all our Howe FFA & 4-H students! @NationalFFA @OKFFA #HoweFFA

There is a National Honor Society Candidate Information meeting at 11:25 in the auditorium on Wednesday, March 11. Mrs. Ford will be discussing member requirements and the selection process. Teachers have a list of eligible students in their email. #HPSLions
