Attn Howe JOM 8th-11th grade students: This summer’s Choctaw Nation STEM Camp at Jones Academy will only be one week June 24th -29th & is housed on the Jones Academy campus. The deadline for applications is May 7th. Howe JOM students in grades 8th -11th may apply for this amazing opportunity. It is a FREE camp for those that are accepted. This year the students will visit the Engineering department at the University of Oklahoma for a college tour & will have a returning workshop with NASA, amongst many other exciting opportunities. Mrs. Parks' Computer Science students started their last Unit: Physical Computing this week in the Code.org Computer Discoveries curriculum. Using App Lab and Adafruit’s Circuit Playground, students will develop programs that utilize the same hardware inputs and outputs that we see in many modern smart devices, and they get to see how a simple rough prototype can lead to a finished product. The unit concludes with a design challenge that will ask students to use the Circuit Playground as the basis for an innovation of their own design. #HPSLions
