Attention 7th-11th grade JOM students: Eastern Oklahoma State College will host its fourth Native Americans Who Code summer camp June 10-13, 2024.
Students from local schools will participate in a four-day camp designed to spark interest in coding, computer science, engineering, web design, drones and robotics. Campers will visit the Choctaw drone facility near Daisy, Okla. to observe drones and assist with missions. The camp is for incoming 8th-12th grade students and will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend and space is limited. The Native Americans Who Code summer camp will be designed and led by Eastern faculty members Brenda Strange and Kellye Semeski with assistance by Laura Myers. The camp is funded by Eastern’s $1.5 million NASNTI grant and is modeled on the Girls Who Code program.
Eastern plans to host a Native Americans Who Code camp each summer through 2025 and will feature topics such as advanced coding, robotics, games and app development.

Thanks to the Toys for Tots campaign, our school was granted with books for every student in grades 3YO to 8th grade.

4th Grade presented their solar system and state projects to staff, students and parents today. They all did a great job.




On Thursday, 2nd and 3rd Grade awards assembly will be at 9:00 followed by 4th and 5th Grade at 10:00. Both of these will be in the cafeteria.
Mystik Dan took home the roses yesterday for the Kentucky Derby...but the real question now is: which class will win the Book Return Derby at HPS this week???

Mrs. Ford's We ❤️Art and 8th Grade classes visited the ACHE Research Institute Health and Wellness Center today! Students created a snail pottery planter, made a delicious lunch, and planted herbs and greens in a vertical tower garden. It was a wonderful day of hands-on learning!

REMINDER: Athletic Physicals for the 2024-25 school year will be given on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in the lobby of the New Gym. The cost is $10. JOM students’ fees will be covered and billed to the Howe JOM program. Physical forms will be sent home today. All student entering the 5th grade - 12th grades are required to have a current physical to participate. #HPSLions
