Monday, February 27th, all juniors and select seniors will take the Mock ACT at the Warehouse at 9:15. This is a change to the original schedule. It has been moved up due to a scheduling conflict. ALL juniors need to be present regardless of whether you are blended or virtual or attend KTC. I have contacted KTC about the change. #HPSLions

Read Across America is next week and we want to foster a love of reading for all of our students in all grades. Each day will be a theme for the week. We look forward to seeing all of our students participate and show us the books that they love to read.

The Howe Lady Lions defeated Panama last night, and will advance to the Regional Finals of Class 2A Area II in Winners Bracket C. They will play Oktaha on Saturday, Feb .25 at 6 pm at Haskell. HPS has purchased rights to stream the game via the Howe Schools Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/howeschools/. The stream will be video only, but you can also listen to the audio at KPRV. Congratulations to the Elementary Howe Lions Archers on a great showing at the NASP state meet in Tulsa.
Norah Cooper 1st place in the Elementary Girls and 3rd place overall in the Elementary division.
Kylynn Parker for a 5th place finish in the Elementary Girls division.
Bentley Thompson finished 18th out of 60 in the 5th grade boys.
The Junior high and High school will be competing at the state shoot tomorrow the 23rd in Tulsa. The HS shoots at 1:00 and the JH shoots at 3.


We have lots of clothes in our lost and found in the upper elementary. If your child is missing something please feel free to come look for it.


Howe Public Schools is scheduled to host Regionals on Thursday, Feb 23. The Lions were District 5 Runner-up and will play Hayworth at 3 pm on Thursday, Feb 23 at Howe. The Lady Lions were District 5 Champions and will play Panama at 6 pm on Thursday, Feb 23 at 6 pm at Howe.
Both games will be live streamed at bit.ly/howesports. Admission: Tickets must be purchased separately for afternoon and evening sessions. The gym will be cleared and closed between sessions. Tickets may be purchased online using the GoFan app in advance or at the gate. The cost will be $7 per person plus $1.35 processing fee. (Scan attached QR codes for afternoon and evening links.) Cash purchases will be available for $10 per person at the gate. OSSAA Playoff Passes through GoFan and OSSAA issued media passes are the only passes accepted. For the Lions’ game, the gates will open between 12:30 - 12:45 pm; and for the Lady Lions’ game, the gate will open as soon as the gym can be cleaned between sessions.
Students, if you wish to attend the boys’ game on Thursday, your parents may call and check you out for that (as always, you are still expected to sign out in the office.) If you attend the game, you will be afforded an activity absence 7th period. This only applies to 7th period since the Lions do not play until 3 pm. You absolutely must pay to enter the game. #HPSLions



7th grade enjoyed a Cookie Mining STEM activity recently. They mined their cookies for ore. Students model how surface mining impacts the environment with edible ingredients (a cookie!) and answer questions about the health and environmental impacts of surface mining.

Progress reports are being sent home today. Parent-Teacher conferences are tomorrow evening from 4:00 to 7:00. We do have school on Friday.

Playoff Apparel 2nd orders (for Regionals) are due Thursday, Feb 16 by 9 am. Forms must be turned in to Elem or HS office, or to Mrs. Parks before the deadline.
