Mrs. Kardokus's 10th grade English classes completed projects over a character in the novel, Fahrenheit 451, who is on the run in a futuristic society. These students went above and beyond the project expectations to create "Wanted" posters. Great job!!! #LionPride

Congratulations to Howe 11th grade student Kayleigh Chitwood for placing third in Carl Albert State College’s eighth annual poetry contest. Kayleigh’s original poems stood out among submissions from students across Sallisaw, Poteau, and the online community. This year’s contest theme was “Unleash,” encouraging students to explore and express their creativity. After an initial review by CASC’s Fine Arts and Communications faculty, the top poems were judged by Dr. Shawn Holliday of Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Kayleigh’s work earned high praise, landing her among the top three winners. We are proud to celebrate Kayleigh’s talent and achievement. Her two poems are featured below as part of this special recognition. Well done, Kayleigh – your voice and creativity shine bright. #LionPride #StudentSuccess #CASCpoetry
