Congratulations to our Howe HS Lady Lions and Lions! Both teams advanced to the semi-finals of the 90th Annual LeFlore County HS Basketball Tourn after last night's wins over Panama and Wister! The #1 Lady Lions will play #4 Whitesboro on Thursday at 7 pm at Talihina; the #3 Lions will play #2 Pocola on Friday at 8:30 pm at Talihina. The JH/HS Archery Teams will be attending the LeFlore County Archery meet at the Reynolds Center on Wednesday, Jan 19.
The JH will be leaving at 10:10 am and shooting at 11:00 am
The HS will be leaving at 11:10 am and shooting at 12:00 pm
Both teams will return in time to ride the PM Bus Route.
Tournament Information
1. All archers and coaches will need to enter through the side entrance toward the center of the building. All others need to use the general public entrance (main entrance), located at the front of the building.
2. Archers will shoot within their own teams due to Covid.
3. If you pre-ordered shirts, your payment for those is due at check-in as well, payable to Cameron Archery.
4. Please bring your own arrows and bows. We will have a few extras if needed. Racks will be provided, but you may bring your own.
5. There will not be an awards ceremony. Trophies and medals will be distributed to coaches.
6. Admission for the event is $5 per person. Ages 5 and under, Veterans, & First Responders are FREE.
7. The Chamber has decided to run the concession, so your team may want to bring money for that AND there will be two vendors on site selling county t-shirts and archery related items. If you preordered shirts, your payment is due at registration. Your shirts will be available for pickup at the t-shirt vendor's table.
8. NASP rules and procedures will be followed, except coaches may step up and coach their kids while shooting.

The Kiamichi Technology Center - Poteau Campus will be in session on Thursday and Friday, Jan 13 and 14. KTC students are expected to attend classes regardless of district's virtual learning day schedule. The Howe KTC bus will depart the Howe campus at 7:50 am and return at 11:15 am for the AM classes and departure Howe campus at 12:15 pm and return at 3:30 pm for the PM classes. #HPSLions
The 90th Annual LeFlore County High School Basketball Tournament (hosted by Whitesboro Public Schools) is scheduled for January 17-22! We have a pair of glasses that were found in the upper elementary parking lot. They are in a case. Please come by the office to identify and pick up.
High School Announcements:
Basketball, Archery and Cheer pictures are scheduled for January 27, 2022 for grades 3rd through High School. Picture order forms will be sent out.
The freshman class is selling tickets for custom Howe Lion/Lady Lion cornhole boards. Stop by the hs office if you would like to see them. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets. Freshmen need to sell a minimum of one book of tickets.
We are giving the ASVAB on January 25th at 8:15. This is a career exploration test and is available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. If you have questions or would like to sign up to take the ASVAB, please see Mrs. Donathan by January 18th.
Sophomores must return the Chad Cargill ACT test prep form to Mrs. Brown by February 1st.
