Four of our outstanding students were celebrated today at KIAMICHITECH's National Technical Honor Society induction ceremony! Kensi Teafatiller-Caldwell is in the Culinary Arts program, Avery Bobbitt is in the Computer Information Technology program, and Israel Castillo along with Jonathan Gibson are in the Criminal Justice program. They are more shining examples of how Howe students excel in many areas! We are very proud of the hard work and dedication in which these students represent Howe in the classroom and their respective vocational disciplines. #howelions

Exciting News: Howe Public Schools Awarded Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant! We are proud to announce that Howe Public Schools has been selected as a recipient of the Oklahoma Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Grant! This prestigious multi-year initiative is part of a statewide effort to enhance literacy instruction and improve student outcomes. Congratulations to Mrs. Donna Morris, Elementary Principal, Mrs. Vida Himes, Integration Specialist, and their dedicated team for their hard work in securing this opportunity for our students! This grant is part of a $58.9 million statewide initiative, with $11.2 million allocated for the first year, funded by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Approximately 25 districts across Oklahoma, including Howe, will receive subgrants to support literacy programs designed to enhance school readiness and improve literacy success, particularly among disadvantaged students. Key Goals of the Initiative: ✅ Early Language Development: Boost oral language skills in young learners, assessed through universal screening tools and diagnostic assessments. ✅ Elementary Literacy Proficiency: Increase the number of fifth-grade students meeting or exceeding state reading and language arts standards. ✅ Middle School Literacy Proficiency: Raise the percentage of eighth-grade students achieving proficiency in reading and language arts. ✅ Teacher Training & Professional Development: Equip educators with the latest science-based literacy instructional strategies to ensure high-quality literacy education. This initiative will directly impact students from our Lion Cubs Early Learning Center, Elementary, Middle School, and High School, strengthening literacy instruction at EVERY level. We look forward to sharing more details soon on how this transformative grant will support our students and teachers! #LiteracyMatters #LionPride
