Happy retirement to Mrs. Cindy Mitchell, whose 12 years of service at Howe High School have made a lasting impact on our students and school community. From her start as a business teacher to her role as Graduation Coach, she played a vital part in launching and sustaining our High School Internship Program, while also expanding opportunities through concurrent enrollment and Kiamichi Technology Center. Under her leadership, Howe consistently earned an A in the Postsecondary Opportunities category on the Oklahoma School Report Card. In addition, she faithfully served as the Senior Sponsor for numerous years, coordinating field trips, graduation, and other milestone events, and also poured her creativity into documenting school memories as the Yearbook sponsor. Mrs. Mitchell’s dedication, leadership, and heart for students will be deeply missed, and her legacy will continue to inspire.

📚🍎 It’s Teacher Appreciation Week! 🍎📚 At Howe Public Schools, we are incredibly grateful for the heart, hustle, and unwavering dedication our teachers bring to the classroom each and every day. They go above and beyond to inspire, encourage, and support our students—not just academically, but emotionally and personally. Our teachers stay late to help students, spend their own money on snacks and classroom incentives, attend students’ ball games, concerts, and livestock shows, and continue cheering them on long after the final bell rings. They are role models, mentors, and champions for our kids. “Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them… and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” – Rita Pierson This week, let’s celebrate the champions in our classrooms. We invite all parents and guardians to help us recognize these everyday heroes. 💌 ✔️ Send an email or handwritten note to your child’s teacher ✔️ Post a shout-out on your own social media and tag them ✔️ Let them know the difference they’ve made this year! A few kind words can go a long way in reminding our educators just how valued they truly are. Let’s make sure our amazing teachers feel the love they deserve this week—and every week! #ThankATeacher #HowePride #TeacherAppreciationWeek

Phase I Progress: New High School Construction Phase I of our new high school is moving forward with major work happening across the site! Mark Woodall & Sons Electric and Destry Harber with Harber Air Conditioning & Refrigeration are installing 50 tons of new A/C in the new gym—just in time for Monday’s 8th Grade Graduation! OG&E is onsite today bringing permanent electric service to the job site, and Superintendent, Scott Parks and maintenance staff member Todd Gardenhire have been working hands-on, installing red iron beams on the two-story roof of the new building. We’re excited to see this investment in our students take shape as we gear up to celebrate graduations this coming week!

Howe Boys Basketball Camp https://bit.ly/lioncamp2025 We are thrilled to invite you to another exciting year of BOYS Basketball Camp, a fun, fast-paced, and skills-packed experience designed to help young athletes grow in confidence and ability on the court! This year’s camp will take place May 27–29 (Tuesday through Thursday) from 1:00- 4:00 PM at the Howe High School Gym. The cost is $50 per camper, and each participant will receive a free camp t-shirt. The camp is open to boys entering grades 3rd–9th, and we’re happy to consider exceptions upon request. It’s also open to all schools, so whether you're a returning Howe Lion or just love the game, we welcome you to join us! Campers will receive quality instruction from Head Coach Britt Brown, Assistant Coach Josiah Mitchell, along with incredible support from special volunteers from the Howe Lions. Together, we’ll focus on individual skill development, including ball-handling, shooting, defense, footwork, and team fundamentals. These are the same drills and techniques used by our high school athletes that are broken down in a way that's fun, engaging, and age-appropriate. But this camp is more than just basketball, it's about building confidence, leadership, teamwork, and friendships. Whether your child is brand new to the game or preparing for junior high or high school competition, this camp is a great way to grow their game and love for basketball. A concession stand will be available, so campers can grab snacks and drinks throughout the morning. For questions or additional information, please contact Coach Britt Brown at 918-658-5200. To receive important updates and announcements about camp, be sure to join our Remind group by texting @howebas to 81010. We'll send reminders and info as the camp approaches. Don't miss out on three days of fun, growth, and great basketball! Spots fill up quickly, so grab your shoes, bring your hustle, and we’ll see you on the court!

Just a quick reminder that Howe’s FFA banquet is tomorrow night at the warehouse. There has been confusion about the $10 a plate. Just to clarify the charge for dinner is $10 total per person. FFA members who have paid their dues will eat for free. Dinner is at 6:30. Banquet starts at 7.
