Literacy Night
🎮✨ Get ready to press start on literacy at Howe Public Schools! ✨📚

This Thursday, September 25, Parent/Teacher Conferences and Family Literacy Night come together for one exciting evening. Families will explore how students can “level up” their learning both at school and at home, all while enjoying food, fun, and community.

🍽️ Dinner is on us! From 4:30–6:30 pm, Howe student families (2 adults + students, with little ones under 3) are invited to enjoy a free hot dog dinner in the cafeteria.

🕹️ Complete the Level Up with Literacy Card challenge!
• Pick up your card in the cafeteria (limit one per family).
• Collect initials or stamps by visiting key locations: meet with your child’s teacher, stop by the Elementary and High School libraries, join an at-home resources session in the Tech Building, and participate in cafeteria activities.
• Return completed cards to the cafeteria card station before 6:30 pm to be entered into the drawing for four $50 VISA gift cards—winners announced Friday!

💻 Explore At-Home Connections. In the Technology Building, 20-minute rotating sessions (4:00, 4:45, 5:30) will spotlight how to use programs like Lexia, IXL, Achieve 3000, Amira, Khan Academy, and more at home. Parents will also meet our “Player Two” team—Reading Specialists, Interventionists, and Instructional Coach—who partner with teachers and families to support student success.

📚 Step inside our libraries! Both the Elementary Library (MS Building) and High School Library (Tech Building) will be open for tours. Don’t forget to stop by the Epic Win Selfie Station to capture the moment!

📊 Families will also receive their child’s Kdg-12th grade MAP Growth Family Report, with information on academic progress and next steps for growth. See linked letter at https://5il.co/3q832.

📖 New this year! We’re kicking off an October At-Home Read-a-thon for Kindergarten through 8th grade. Reading logs and full details will be provided by teachers tomorrow night—get ready to track those minutes and help your class shine!

It’s going to be a night filled with learning, laughter, and literacy power-ups. Come out and join us—because when families and schools team up, every student wins.

✨ Power Up Your Literacy Skills—The Next Level Starts Here!
